It is with great enthusiasm that we announce the candidacy of Ayesha M. Wilson for the Cambridge City Council. Cambridge is a beautiful city that attracts people from tech businesses to medical sciences, students to educators, and new families from all around the globe. We believe that people deserve to “Live, Work, and Thrive” in Cambridge for generations to come. As a successful two-term School Committee Member, there were a lot of proposals Member Wilson was able to accomplish during her tenure:

As a School Committee Member, Ayesha has

  1. Used her job as a social worker to advocate for more social workers in all four budget cycles. Increasing Cambridge Public Schools’ social workers count by eleven.
  2. Chaired the Special Education and Student Supports Subcommittee meetings monthly/quarterly to increase awareness and bring a voice for the most vulnerable throughout the pandemic and the current year.
  3. Co-authored the policy to prioritize racial equity as a school district. This positioned the successful funding of rrrrrthe Office of Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, an enhanced family engagement team, and the adoption of the districtwide anti-racist vision and mission statement.
  4. Advocated for a K-12 mental health curriculum.
  5. Worked closely on the implementation of Universal Preschool for the school year 2024-2025.
  6. Continued advocacy on Individualized Student Success Plans.

As a City Councillor, Ayesha looks forward to

  1. Bringing a new voice to affordable housing needs and opportunities.
  2. Supporting the process and implementation of universal after-school programs.
  3. Increasing our communities' mental health resources for ALL.
  4. Establishing a city-wide climate justice educational campaign.

Currently, Ayesha is a Senior Teacher-Counselor for the Work Force program and a Teamsters Local 122 union member. We have tremendous confidence in Ayesha’s ability to transfer her skills from the school committee, her work ethic, and her drive to improve the community for all to the city council. With your #1 vote on November 7th, Ayesha can win a seat on the Cambridge City Council.

Together we can empower. Thrive and inspire our community.

Together We Are Better!
