“When I think about Cambridge, I think about the next 15 or 30 years. I want to make sure that we are doing the work of today to ensure that our city remains a vibrant, racially and economically diverse city for generations to come. I am focused on addressing the challenges intensified by our booming economy and working tirelessly so that all families can thrive in Cambridge. We are so lucky to live in Cambridge. Let’s work together to make it even better.” ~Adriane Musgrave

Adriane is a rising leader in Cambridge who has dedicated herself to serving its residents across the city. With experience spanning the corporate, nonprofit, and public sectors - as well as a new mom - she brings a unique and valuable skillset to city council. She is focused on the long-term vision for Cambridge and making sure that our booming economy means that all families in Cambridge can thrive for generations to come.
Raised by a single mother in South Florida and now with a family of her own, Adriane knows that it truly takes a village to raise children and see them succeed. From an early age she saw the power and promise of high-quality daycare and after-school programs - for kids’ intellectual growth, family financial stability, and women’s empowerment. Today she wants to make sure that all families have the support systems they need to thrive.
As a candidate for Cambridge City Council in 2017, Adriane earned the endorsement of A Better Cambridge Action Fund as their top-ranked new candidate for her smart growth and affordable housing policies. She was also named one of the “most promising new candidates” by StreetsPac MASS and supported by the Cambridge Bicycle Safety group for safe roads, sidewalks, and plazas.
Adriane has lived in Cambridge for nearly ten years. Today she resides in North Cambridge with her husband and young son where they try to spend as much time outdoors. When she’s not at community meetings or exploring city parks with her son, you’ll likely find her cycling country roads, running along the Charles, hiking mountains, and playing tennis.

Universal Daycare and Early Childhood Education
- Insist that neighborhood-based Early Childhood Centers are included in our capital budget since space is currently a limiting factor
- Build a broad coalition - including our local universities, corporations, and nonprofit sector - that will commit themselves to creating more accessible childcare options
- Establish a concrete timetable and budget so that all 3 and 4 year olds have access to affordable, high-quality care within 5 years
- Start to plan for how we will support all families from birth to 3 years old since this is where the cost burden is highest
- Streamline the application process to reduce the paperwork burden on families
- Collect data on long-term outcomes so that we can improve our work and be part of a network of cities making the case that investing in early childhood makes a real difference
